Suceava Day 2 - Visiting the museum, fortress and orthodox monastery

In the afternoon, after completing our tasks we visited cultural and historical monuments of Suceava. The pupils of the host school, who are students of the Tourism Course, accompanied their new friends throughout the traditional village. Here we learned many interesting facts about traditional life in different parts of Romania. The museum is thematically arranged to follow a man from his birth to death. We were all surprised by how much we have in common. We discussed the history, traditions and customs peculiar for our countries.

Later, we moved to a renovated fortress with spectacular views of the city. We were impressed by interactive expositions in the magnificent halls of the fortress. Since all the texts are in Romanian, our friends from Suceava willingly undertook the task to translate and explain the particularly enlightening and interesting facts of the region. At the end of the day we visited an orthodox monastery on the list of cultural and historical monuments UNESCO. What were the impressions and feelings of all the participants in the learning activity? During informal talks to each other, they reflected positively on the overall atmosphere of the project, the possibility of using English language in other than in a traditional school environment and also possible future opportunities as a result of participation in the project.
